HISTORY OF THE BOBBING HEAD DOLL
Once a fad, now a classic collectible , bobbing head dolls or
(bobble heads or nodders) have been around for more than 300 years.
The first bobbing heads depicted a smiling Buddha and were made in China
back in the late 1600s. Later , porcelain bobbing heads were made in
Europe featuring noblemen and leaders.
Over the centuries , bobbing heads evolved from deities to dashboards as the 1960s became the heyday for the modern-day bobbing head doll.
These bobbing head doll were made of papier-mâché and featured athletes,
celebrities and rock stars. Now more than 30 years later ,
